The Asturias Cider Tourism Product Club Association was born with the intention of creating a Product Club with which the cider and tourism sectors are combined to promote and disseminate cider and the Asturian cider culture, generating a differentiating tourist resource.

The Asturias Sidraturism Product Club Association currently has four entities as members. These are: The PDO Cider Regulatory Council of Asturias The Asturias Rural Tourism Cluster: The Cluster or Business Group of Rural Tourism of Asturias (ASTURAS) is a non-profit association formed by more than 50 companies, organizations and knowledge spaces that are part of the value chain of rural tourism in Asturias and that have associated to move forward, generating new opportunities. The Public Society for Tourism and Cultural Management and Promotion of the Principality of Asturias: This public entity is in charge of managing the cultural, tourist and sports facilities located in the Principality of Asturias, as well as the provision of infrastructure to improve tourist use. Caja Rural de Asturias Financial entity with special dedication to the social economy and the rural environment, which maintains a commitment to Asturias by betting on various projects of Asturian companies and entities that generate value for the region.

MAIN OBJECTIVES AND AIMS

The general objective of the Association is to develop actions and activities for the promotion and dissemination of Asturian cider culture as a tourist resource and to promote the development of tourist activity related to it, as well as support for the cider and tourism sector of the Principality of Asturias. . The purposes of the Association are:

1. Promote the name and identity “Sidraturismo Asturias”.

2. Defend, conserve, promote and disseminate knowledge of the Asturian cider culture, also including the natural and cultural environments linked to it, contributing to its enhancement.

3. Promote the development of tourist activity related to Asturian cider and its culture.

4. Support the continuous improvement of wineries and pumaradas, as well as other tourism activities and businesses, directly or indirectly associated.

5. Promote the cohesion of the production, marketing and consumption sectors of cider as a tourist resource.

6. Promote actions and activities aimed at taking advantage of the opportunities that apple and cider production offer as a tourist attraction, in a similar way to what happens with other agri-food products.

7. Promote training and improve the qualifications of all agents involved in the cider sector and tourism in Asturias.

8. Improve the quality of products and services.

9. Promote study and research in everything related to cider, apple production, tourist activity that uses cider and its production and preparation process as a resource, tourism and rural development.

10. Fight against rural depopulation and promote the balanced and sustainable development of rural spaces.
